Central Oregon Prescribed Burn Co-Op: A Community-Driven Initiative using the Prescribed Burn Association Model.

Our PBA is for individuals that are interested in supporting the use and knowledge transfer of fire as both a natural resource and a tool for hazard mitigation and ecological improvement across the private lands of Central Oregon.

Our approach

Our goal is to connect landowners, fire practitioners, land managers, and like-minded community members. Together, we aim to share knowledge and provide cooperative support for the responsible use of fire as a tool for hazard mitigation and ecological enhancement.

NO prior fire or land management experience required.  Just  non-flammable clothing, sturdy boots and interest in experiential learning about responsible burning.

Empowering Communities in Fire Adapted Landscapes.

Our mission is to unite a diverse community, building a community supported co op dedicated to supporting each other in the use of fire for hazard mitigation and ecological enhancement. It is this internal community support which will grow the knowledge of responsible burning, resulting in a more fire adapted community in a fire dependent ecosystem.

What Areas Do We Serve?

We are building a community dedicated to forming teams that mitigate fire risks by using Good Fire in Deschutes County and neighboring areas.
